Dulles is home to Dulles International Airport [named for the former U.S. Secretary of State John Foster Dulles], which handles over 22 million passengers a year, and occupies 11,830 acres. The main terminal was designed in 1958 by famed Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen and it is highly regarded for its graceful beauty,suggestive of flight. Dulles is also known as the Dulles Technology Corridor, home to many high-tech businesses. Located on the edge of the airport is the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, part of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.
